Dude Singlehandedly saved hundreds of jobs, a real hero. He deserves 18000 waters

I like how the article ends with essentially "but sometimes the ai got orders right 🥺" like, yeah cool, no one says it's always wrong, the issue is it's not reliable so "sometimes working" is just redescribing the problem, not something to celebrate

It's almost like removing the service from food service isn't a good idea! Who would have thought?!

@johnsrabe

There is not a single human who prefers a robot order-taker. So when Taco Bell claims it is to improve service, what they really mean is they want to make more money by cutting jobs. And that’s what they’re going to do.

If AI takes over our European drive thrus, then I'll always tell them "I'll have two number 9s, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45s, one with cheese, and a large soda." and let them react.

Oh look. Exactly what everyone warned would happen, happened. How shocking.

My fiance got so mad that the ai couldn't understand him he started cursing and a human came right away 😂

@KanadianKing

I watched a video yesterday of it totalling someone's burger meal to $420. When the customer asked why is it $420, the AI started recalculating and then showed his order at like $48,000

The whole AI thing boils down to, just because you can doesn't mean you should

Don’t feel bad trolling AI, you’re doing the world a great favor, billion dollar companies don’t need that extra revenue, but the working class needs their jobs.

I feel like trying to automate a vast plethora of jobs without infrastructure of UBI, all so companies can look for ways to not pay workers and increase shareholders profits, is going to come to a head sooner rather than later when robots are doing all the work but no one can find a job or afford to participate in capitalism. We're not on a sustainable trajectory.

I’d much rather have a human that may get one aspect of the order wrong once a month compared to an ai literally anyone can mess with

🤣🤣😐🤣🤣🤣 My son is going to love this. He used to work at Taco Bell until everyone else quit on the same night (including the manager)! He was left by himself to run the entire shop. No keys to lock up. No change. No relief. No way to close the dinning room until closing! He had to call the police to take over the building so he could leave. He couldn't lock the registers, dump the cash or even lock up the building! The regional manager was too busy to come
