The more obscure the better in my opinion. Bring good unpopular music to light!

World music imo, Japanese jazz, 80s Korean love songs, Algerian pop from the 90s etc.. there’s gold everywhere you just need to dig

Honestly any genre tbh! My favorite are voice samples to get a good feel and vibe, but jazz beats are just something different. The way jazz incorporates all musical instruments and just the rhythm of it all is something magical! I’ll need to look more into rock but idk many ways I can sample a rock song. Especially for rap

I randomly pick an album and chop parts I like, while getting familiar to the genre. It doesn't really matter which genre, time signature or tempo the specific track is - you can always adjust it to your own needs.

I feel like the best to sample has to be rock since the drums can make some pretty good beats

What about Classical and Film Scores? What about different samples from TV, Movies, Kids Shows or even Video Games?

I'm just wondering why classical isn't on here. DJ premiere is one of the BEST producers and he samples classical. Classical takes the Cake

While some of the best samples in songs come from jazz and soul, rock samples are my personal favourite when making a song. Might be cus alt rock is a huge influence to me (smashing pumpkins, nirvana, Radiohead, etc…) but it just flows in such a way that works best for me personally
