I was so not ready for the storyline in Deltarune chapter 4, holy shit (Talking about MAJOR spoilers ahead, do not read further if you haven't played the game yourself)
That one scene in the second sanctuary especially pulled my heart in so many different directions, I physically had to take a minute and walk away from the game to process everything that just happened. It's probably partly because I just upped my estrogen dose, but that genuinely might've been the hardest any videogame scene has ever hit me - the only thing that competes is the ending of Celeste's Farewell. It's crazy how good Toby Fox is at making you feel for his characters
And that ending too?? You're telling me we're fighting a fucking *Titan* in only chapter 4 out of 7??? Also, what could Susie have possibly seen in the prophecy that made her so shaken up? What was bad enough to cause her to bloody her hand just to break it? What was so bad that she felt the need to say she hopes her, Kris, and Ralsei all stay friends, no matter what happens?
I can't wait to see how the story continues in chapter 5, this is such a cliffhanger they've left us on at the end of this one
Honestly, I think this is the point where Deltarune has officially surpassed Undertale in terms of ambition and just how deep the story is going. That fever dream Toby had must have been crazy, the fact that we're only halfway through the game so far is insane
