Displaced Gamers

Next video is Commando for the NES.

No release date (I have no idea!), but I’ve logged a lot of time on it already.

@Berdlyknowsitall

This is easily the best early capcom game for nes. It’s pretty simple so the fact that it feels like it’s falling all part doesn’t hurt it all that much

I never get to share my story about this game. I had this game when I was a child, and during the winter one year I tried to put the cartridge in the NES, but it did that thing where the console turned on but the game didn't start. The cartridge was cold, so I thought maybe that was the problem. It's probably too cold to start, thought 8 year old me. And how did 8 year old me warm things up? I warm things up in the microwave. I learned a hard lesson that day.

@MAYOFORCE

I heard the localization story of Commando a few years before I saw the movie, but now that I did, the last act of the movie definitely resembles the game.

Absolutely loved this game growing up. It was my first time thinking “games can glitch like hell”. Fascinated to see what you put out on this classic. 😎👍

Sweet! Your videos are always super interesting, and have actually helped me understand ASM a bit better… not that I’ll ever CODE in it, but from a curiosity standpoint I love it!!

This should be neat. I barely know the NES game but was quite familiar with the Apple II version.
