I went to see Kyoto at the Soho place - about the groundbreaking Kyoto climate agreement and the lawyer hired by big oil to derail proceedings - and it was fantastic. Simultaneously infuriating and inspiring, it brings UN climate negotiations to life and highlights the genuine heroism of some of the negotiators.

Everyone in the audience was given a lanyard, and some audience members were even sat at the negotiating table.

Some people seem to think the play has a too-happy ending but I disagree, I think it's very clearly a bittersweet conclusion that I feel is appropriate. I got a huge kick out of the details from both the climate side and the UN side.

Would highly recommend, go see this if you can!

Why is it even allowed for fossil fuel companies to be represented there? They don't have this representation in the IPCC nor the UNFCCC

I was there yesterday, too! Too bad I didn't see you. Absolutely brilliant play. I can't believe they effectively made 8 years of discussions about words into an absolutely thrilling 2.5h piece of art.

It's like giving the creators of biological warfare a seat in the WHO (not the band).

I, for one, think Haiti couldn't have asked for a better COP3 delegate

Big oil - and the tough mofos who work to provide it - keeps you alive... without it youd be a feudal peasant - a little respect is due
