Day 18/50 — Local Integration Process (LIP) in SAP CPI (modularize & reuse logic within one iFlow). #50Days50QuestionsOfCPI
A Local Integration Process (LIP) is a reusable sub-process inside the same iFlow. You invoke it via Process Call → Local Integration Process, execute shared steps (validation, enrichment, mappings), and return to the caller. LIPs run in the same message exchange, so body, headers, and properties are visible to—and modifiable by—the LIP. Use them to keep designs clean, avoid duplication, and standardize repeated logic. For cross-iFlow reuse, expose a separate iFlow (HTTP/ProcessDirect). Keep LIPs focused, document their inputs/outputs (via properties/headers), and handle errors with a local Exception Subprocess or let them bubble to the caller.
