I would like to see a little foraging. It doesn’t have to be full on survival mode eat off the land. Just a simple incorporation of something you find that you identify as edible and safe would be interesting. It doesn’t have to be the star of the dish. Just something that you might find on a hike and add to something you already planned on making. 🙂

Here are a few ideas I wouldn’t mind seeing you throw down on the next camping trip! *Cast Iron Seared Duck Breast with Blackberry Reduction * Smoky Lentil & Vegetable Tagine Maybe next time when you have friends/family tag along you could do a “campfire tasting menu” Like a Amuse-bouche, starter, main & dessert 😅 And can you do pairings for wine, cocktails, or non-alcoholic camp drinks? :

I'm the most basic camper that loves throwing some stuff (usually some onion, potatoes, carrots) in a tinfoil packet and throwing it on the coals. What would you put in a tinfoil packet? Or, would you ever do such a thing? 😅

You go camping 🏕️ alone? I find the idea scary. Are you geo tagged? You don’t have to answer that of course. I just have anxiety about accidents while camping or hiking. I had a severe ankle injury once while on a hike and had to be carried out on a stretcher. I didn’t actually break any bones but the recovery time was just as long. I had gnarly bruising all the way up to my hip. All of my wilderness training advised having at least one human companion. The Blair Witch Project scared me not because of the supernatural aspects, but because I do not want to be stranded in the wilderness, especially with idiots. I made a list of all the reasons that could not happen to me after coming home from that movie. I actually do know how to find my way out of the wilderness. Thank goodness, or really thanks to my parents for sending me to camp and making me take so many survival classes. Before anyone points out the obvious, yes I know that accidents happen in big metropolitan areas too. But it’s far more likely that someone will wander by. And the buddy system is advisable in cities too. The number one safety rule about visiting wild lands that was drilled into my head as a kid is go with other people. Dogs are wonderful companions but cannot operate a sat phone

It was a great week of camping and I learned a lot about maintaining a double tent set up.
My @SnowPeakUSA1958 Hexa Tent over their takibi fire pit and grill was an excellent combo and let me cook while it rained and my @ZempireCamping tent was super comfortable as always.
I’ll be doing these week long stints again, hopefully every month till winter so there will be a lot of content and lessons to share.
I love working and cooking over fire and the limitations prove a fun challenge for me.
Let me know what you think I should try cooking next time I head out into the woods and I’ll see what I can do.
💚
