I agree with Webtoon’s decision. Koreans are racist toward toward mixed Koreans, dark skinned people, and foreigners. And for the creators of the comic to try and tackle racism by portraying the dark skinned individuals as racist, especially in Korea where they would be discriminated against, is just crazy. Plus I think the webtoon is still there on Webtoon in Korean.

I don’t really know the context of this but hand to god that hairstyle alone deserves to be banned from the entirety of Webtoon

I mean, it's not like there was a better solution. As webtoon stated, this content should have never been published there in first place (specially an ORIGINAL comic), it's insane how this kinda of racist content even got there in first place. Ppl pointed out that Koreans are usually more ignorant abt colorism, but that still doesn't explain how the ppl who translated the comic to english didn't see anything weird with it.

I don’t think you could defend this tbh. It’s so blatantly racist

Didn't know this Webtoon even existed until recently but when I heard about the controversy I was like "This HAS to be satire! There's no way in hell someone could be dumb enough to tackle the evils of racism by having the blasian kid be the ones who discrimates against the fully Asian, Korean majority and then have the characters we're supposed to root for call him the n word". But lord behold, turns out humans are a lot dumber than I gave them credit for! Also, another thing I've noticed is that not only is the blasian kid drawn to look like an Indian guy who died his hair red but for a Korean supremacist, the author of this series sure likes depicting the "Koreans" in his comic as looking no different than white Europeans. I sense that his racism actually is rooted in insecurity and/or jealousy.

yes, that's like a black person calling an Asian person ching-chong or making fun of their flat faces and small eyes

I think we should wait until the arc is finished to see what the authors intend is in the story also he didn't call the character the n word he told him that's what he use to call racist black people.

Has anyone heard of the controversy surrounding the Webtoon “Get Schooled”?
Seems like the most recent chapter was so racist it caused insane backlash and Webtoon had to remove the entire comic off their English platform! The chapter features black characters drawn in a caricature kind of way, and the teacher practically slams him with the n-word.
Is the punishment too harsh or do you agree with Webtoons decision? 🤔
I hope you all stay tuned to watch my next video dropping Monday morning:
