I genuinely couldn’t with the “she’s non binary so she’s the key to the universe 🙄

The Star Beast was actually really really good looking back at it

Not trying to ruin anyone else's enjoyment of it but I genuinely despise The Star Beast. It's one of the only episodes that I struggle to rewatch because it makes me so uncomfortable. It has a few good scenes and when it initially came out I was admittedly pretty hyped because it just felt so much more alive to me than Chibnall's era but the way they handle Rose's character is so odd. She's not good representation or really even a character, her entire personality revolves around her gender. The scene where she corrects The Doctor on The Meep's pronouns comes off as exactly how conservatives claim trans people act like 24/7. I guess the reason it annoys me so much is that the episode had real potential to be good but I'm just completely incapable of enjoying it because of one character. This is coming from a trans guy by the way, so I'm not just typing this in some weird transphobia fuelled craze. Sort of feels like RTD didn't really even know what to do with her because they keep repeating she's non-binary yet she's presented in every other aspect exactly like a binary trans woman (even Donna refers to her as her daughter). I feel bad for the actress though, I've heard she's good in other stuff.

For me it's The Star Beast! It was a brilliant introduction to david tennant as the fourteenth doctor, showing his differences and similarities to the tenth doctor! It was lovely to see donna and her family again and I really enjoyed the story! Plus I loved the meep, how could it be so adorable then so evil! 😂😊

The curse of the black spot is easily much better than star beast in every way

There’s a lot of moments in the Star Beast that make me cringe immensely, but at the same time there’s a lot of moments that I really really like. I’m still not sure where I’d rank it tbh.

Whoever actually enjoyed The Star Beast must have learning difficulties

The Star Beast was really solid all around (until the end, but I don’t think it ruins it for me). Curse of the Black Spot was fine but not really remarkable.

The Star Beast was great until the end and only because it was a lazy, hand-wavy way to solve a nearly two-decade long problem.

I love both of these episodes I think they are both a fun time and enjoyable watch and that is what makes a great episode for me The Star Beast is a great first episode for 14 and it’s super cool that is an episode adapted from a comic story I really enjoy 14 thoughout the whole of The Star Beast as well as everything else my only issue with it is we never see 14 get his new sonic or him learning what it can do because he somehow just knows it can make forcefields and little floating screens but we never see him learn the sonic can do that but still doesn’t take away from the episode and I also love The Curse of the Black Spot because it’s an 11 episode who is my Doctor and Amy and Rory my favourite companions are great in it and I’m a big pirate fan so combine that with Doctor Who now that is super cool to me I also like how The Siren wasn’t just a Monster of the Week and was an alien/hologram trying to heal others and took that duty of care seriously I’m giving it to The Curse of The Black Spot is vote for both if I could

LETZZPLAY
Lowest Rated Story for each modern Doctor (for those wondering where the 9th Doctor’s lowest rated story is, I automatically moved it to round 2 to even out the numbers)
Round 1
Which is better?
