gaijin hunter

Is there any kind of Monster Hunter content that would interest people? It seems most vids don't get views probably since YouTube pretends a channel is dead if not uploading every week, but switch axe tutorial, showcasing every Sword and Shield, even making a tool for talisman search while they have helped a good chunk of people and im super happy i did them, it feels like the majority of people who would normally watch my vids just aren't. Not sure if there is anyway to salvage that, or if MH is just screwed until they fix the PC port for the majority of people.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, and dont worry, i am not down and im very happy (and enjoying wilds), just curious given the state of the game, what kind of content would people acutally want if any?

In my case I believe right now the videos from other streamers are out on day 1, and old time hunters already know basics so, I'm not sure about the rest, but in my case I follow you since MH4U, so going back to tutorial on weapons is not something I'm looking for anymore (I'm bad with my weapons tbh😂), but love all your content from MH

It's genuinely just the release schedule, don't overthink it - just make the videos you like.

The first thing that jumps out in my mind are videos that show appreciation for the game, or highlights the fun to be had, despite the sea of negativity the game has found itself in lately. I can't say for sure what that would entail, exactly. But your "Enjoy Harder Hunts" video was a really nice one. It showed a rather obscure mechanic of the game, and could help make the game more fun for people who weren't aware of that. And your monster snore compilation was absolutely perfect haha. I always take a moment to listen to Gore's puppy dog snore now. I feel like most of the obvious things, such as making guides, builds etc. aren't really working as well, unless you're super crazy quick to do it after a new update. But that kind of content isn't really sustainable in between updates either, when most people have already looked up guides, made their sets and moved on.

@weeseet

I'm in the "I'll watch it when I get the game, I'll get the game when it's playable" camp personally

I would die for a series that shows how to approach hunting different monsters. It's all good understanding in theory how a weapon works, but no one tells you "lance is great, have fun lumbering towards a Mangamalo while he jumps away from you every 2 seconds"

Since we're getting the Omega hunt next month, I think it'll be interesting to have a video on your thoughts about it as someone who has played and enjoyed both MH and FFXIV. It'll definitely be an insightful watch for me at least since I know nothing about the latter game, haha.

I think you’re in a tough spot. Most people online moved on from monster hunter due to performance issues. Until they fix the game I think you may struggle. Love your content.

Honestly I'd just love something positive because it really feels like the sea of negativity is bringing me and others down

@henriboteule

I think personally the kind of content that is not very well represented is experienced players going through hunts casually but expertly (not speed running but... freestyling? I guess) and commenting on how and why they do things that they do... breaking down monster patterns, decision making, punish windows, tips n tricks...etc. I love this kind of content and if you think of a creator that does this please let me know

If youre sticking to monster hunter, show your appreciation for it. The music, the models, the enviornment. Small quirks of the game it of the monsters or of the land. Characters and their missions maybe. Comparing monster hunter weapons to real life weapons. Showing which body parts of the monster are used per weapon. Its always the details that matter most. Get minute and show your love and appreciation!

@KillerPoPBlues01

I personally miss the sort of “off meta” builds you would make and your weapon tutorials.

@pokitu

I love the idea of doing specific build gimmicks! There's fun armor skills and weapon skills people don't use that often that can be really cool to mess around with. Regardless of views, you're an inspiration through the ages, gaijin hunter! Thank you for making your videos.

@PastryPlaysGames

For me, there just wasn’t enough meat on wilds bones. I need a Generations style new world MH game, with just tons and tons and tons of content at this point. So it’s really not you Gaijin, it’s the state of the series right now.

The “Japan reacts to MHRise” was cool, maybe the same video but of MHWilds? 😂

A retrospective/ review of each monster hunter title would be cool to see in your perspective like breaking it down with the weapons, the monsters, and the expansions that came later. Knowing what the community of fans were like with each title.

What I think differentiates you from many content creators is your history with the franchise. A lot of content creators started with World and it's nice hearing from you or others who began their journey long before that (like I did). When you speak from that experience it feels like you're speaking to players like me and I think that's going to include a lot of the diehard fans. For video topics/content - you're kind of like THE MH fan and as such I think you could act as a voice for the rest of us. There's a lot of negativity recently regarding the PC optimization and lack of content updates and though I don't think it's in your style to be overtly negative, speaking to that topic in a constructive way would give voice to the frustrations being felt in the player base right now. And it won't always be negative, when the community is happy/excited it's great to hear your own excitement alongside ours. I've been a fan of your work since before you were on YouTube, your weapon tutorials are legendary in my eyes!

@Amberpawn

You are the OG hunter for me and your positive spirit really captures something beautiful about hunting and the games feel like they've heard that. Things are a little less silly and a little more serious but ecology is important and showing that is precious. You're a voice for us and with us, it may be something a little different but have you considered profile lore, ecology, and observations of the monsters? Not just in their current appearance but in previous games? There's a joy that you have that is important and I'd like to see that continue forward.

I really enjoyed all of your lore deep dives into the creatures.

@Wartilion4

I know that for me, it's a combination of factors. Part of it is the algorithm not showing me much MH content. A lack of time. Every game wants you connected at all times these days, so I find more of my free time being eaten just trying to keep up. I always look up your videos for the weapon guides. Even if I have been playing since MH3U, it's super nice to get a run down of the weapon in the new game. Especially when I want to learn a different weapon. I am not sure about video ideas as I don't have the free time to watch I used to.
