Found a good patch of wild raspberries last Saturday, fed them to Wife and 6 year old Grandson. Heavenly!! I have a largish patch of them in our kitchen garden but they DO NOT COMPARE to the flavor of wild ones. Haven't found wild strawberries yet. Ever.

A large black Yogi walked through our yard yesterday on his way to the blackberry bush on the other side of the fence. I won’t be wrestling him for my share. Enjoy picking the delicious berries along your way!

Perfect time for raspberries, blueberries will peak last. Once on Brohm Ridge (above Squamish) I found they actually peaked in late September, but I think that was unusually late. Probably peak in late August usually. Either way I was able to easily fill every container I could find in my truck. Blueberries freeze perfectly laid flat on a tray, then you can put them in a bag and they won't stick together. Huckleberries up there too, almost identical but darker purple and instead of the berries hanging down from the stalk, they are held up and cradled in the leaves.

I just saw that in the spring. You can go morel mushroom hunting in the fire. Burned areas of BC and get like hundreds and hundreds of mushrooms. Have you heard of that before? I saw it pop up on my YouTube recommendations looks pretty interesting and I know there's someone in that camper with you that would love a morel mushroom! And there's no size limit the bigger the better!! Haha

On the Hiways to Cassiar at the Cottonwood Creek, go up the hill toward the goat infested hills, you'll walk thru a probably the world's biggest huckleberry patch, if in season your likely to step on a bear, for sure a berry muffin or two. Been there done it, was armed with a Magnum, did one run or it's you shot too. Be safe.

Just passed you in Dawson City today! Just got back today from a run up the Dempster to Tuktoyaktuk for a jump in the arctic. Not sure if you finished the trip up that way already or are still heading north? Can give you the latest on the road. My daughter was excited to see ‘Mick’ as you drove by headed to the ferry!!!

Destination Adventure
Berry season is finally here. Haven’t fought the bears off to score some blueberries yet, but that should be coming soon too.
