I lived in The Dalles Oregon when it blew in 1980. Ash was everywhere. It was crazy. Couldn't go outside which seemed like forever.

I remember news stories saying the plume of ash stayed in the atmosphere and lowered earth temperatures by a degree or two in areas by filtering the sun. 1980. Earth naturally evolving is super interesting
