I’ve always wanted a Malinois just because how intelligent they are with proper training. Although this breed does not have the size of the corso they are still not to be underestimated.

I have a Doberman and a German Shepherd. They are both fiercely loyal especially to my kids. Very protective.

Personal protection : cane Corso, stronger and more alert and deadly to protect you from intruders. Overall dog : malinois, more agility, more trainable, more obedient, smarter and better around children. My favorite breed of choice would be the boerboel the south African mastiff. Goes along well with my character and it's close to cane Corso too but more muscular.

Assuming they’re both trained to be protection dogs so “skill” isn’t really a factor, the corso. Corso just has the size to deter people off of looks alone, and the same size will translate to an oppressive force when in need to attack. You don’t need the dog to be “smarter” or “lighter/more agile” when it comes to protection, it isn’t a case of a police dog, you need the dog to put somebody on their a** when getting attacked.

I've always had Rotties and bully breeds, but out of these two I'd take the Malinios brains matter over brawn, once you hit a certain size.

Cane Corsos are very easy to take care of! How ever they ain't no joke! Better train them well! Don't think you can stop them when SHTF ! But they are very easy to train! Very smart dogs! They don't run from a situation they run at a situation! Trust me I own 2
