WW1 is the craziest modern war, machine guns, tanks, chemicals, and trench warfare. All over 1 person.

why does Korea never get talked about….3 years of intense combat ranging from 36000 KIA and 100k WIA, compared to Vietnam spanning 8 years or so of combat with 58k KIA and 150k WIA. And yet Korea is always in the shadows of WW2 and Vietnam

The cold war in my opinion, you have insane amounts of proxy wars, Soviet-Afghan and Vietnam. Undercover agents and double agents, the nuke race and the crazy amount of weird experiments between the US and Soviets. Plus you have the huge scandals and feuds throughout the era that defined foreign policy for years, truly one of the most interesting eras ever

The sad thing about being an Afghan War vet and a history nerd is knowing no one will remember it in 100 years. One of the most inconsequential 20 year long war in human history.

I used to read about WW2 alot. But I've just started reading in depth about WW1... and I don't know why, but it scares me to death. It's like reading horror. I thought WW2 was worse than WW1, but now I don't know. I have a whole new level of respect for the men in WW1.

The Vietnam war was the only war that came with its own soundtrack.

The Vietnam Vets are still owed an explanation. Its not even considered a 'war'. A mere conflict. Not only were they abandoned once they got back. They still don't get the help they deserve. As someone who is not a veteran, it is truly a shame on all of us (US) for what we ignore.

Cold war, the war that never "recordingly" happened...yet most people dont know there were probably skirmishes kept under discretionary advice. Always fascinating to study the art of Subterfuge in modernish warfare.
