cool now to go off topic on defining aspect of the paper mario series is charachter trope i like to reffer to as "henchman" charechter defined by this trope include: Jr Troopa, Shadow Sirens, Lord Crump, O Chunks, Mimi, Maybe Bowser (SPM), Dimentio, Mr L, Bowser Jr, and Kamek they are charachters that are significant within the story, that work for the main villain or, in the case of Jr Troopa and Bowser (SPM), just have a vendetta against you, and, most importantly, you often run into them, where they attempt to cause mischeif in the chpater and/or fights you in a battle, in fact, they are pretty much the main example of recurring bosses in the series My main point is that, in Color Splash and Origami King, there are no character like these. And as such, may i suggest a "henchman" charracter for your color splash reimagining, if you even plan to do that, and his name is "General Guy", also a joke with him is that he uses generic war machine, but A: in unconvential ways or with wacky modifications (Ex: a tank with wheels instead of threads, and a rocket propeller attache to it), and B: he is just bad at piloting them, he is also very easilly startled, as shown during his intro cunsctene when huey, who is behind just says a small quiet "hello..." and General guy's imediate reaction is "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" as he floats in the air, terrified, he is also the chapter 3 boss, in a similar fashion to mimi and lord crump i also have another suggestion, this time for a plot point: assuming you want the big paint stars to join you on your adventure to give you special moves (aking to the star spirits and crystal stars), then they shall also be used to repaint the giant stuff that is normally repainted once you aquire them in the base game, the thing is, once those are painted, the respective paint star becomes a "Dried Paint Star", and thus stop moving and fall face-flat ont he ground. You need to use some paint to re-awaken them, the way to explain this is that when you use too much of their power, they become these husks. Now skip to the final boss, you defeat bowser, and the black paint takes control of peach (like i suggested under another post of yours), she will actually steal the paint stars, make them all "dried", and use their power to create a "Black paint star" or some other mcguffin, thus no longer needing to rely on stealing paint
