Burkina Faso has once again made history! After 28 long years, the prestigious Yennenga Gold Stallion has returned home, with Burkinabè filmmaker Dani KOUYATÉ taking the top prize at FESPACO 2025 for his feature-length fiction film "Katanga or the Dance of the Scorpions". 🎥🔥

The closing ceremony of the 29th edition of FESPACO, held at the Palais des Sports in Ouaga 2000, was a spectacle of color, music, and artistic brilliance. The event was presided over by President Ibrahim TRAORÉ, alongside Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel OUEDRAOGO, Chadian Prime Minister Allah-Maye HALINA, and several other distinguished personalities.

This monumental victory is not just about cinema—it’s a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of Burkina Faso’s artists and storytellers. Despite the challenges the nation faces, Burkinabè filmmakers have continued to create, innovate, and inspire!

🏆 Dani Kouyaté’s Yennenga Gold Stallion win comes with a 20 million CFA franc prize, a certificate, and a trophy, which was personally presented to him by President Traoré. This moment was a proud reminder of Burkina Faso’s unwavering cultural strength and creative brilliance!

In total, 17 official prizes were awarded at FESPACO 2025, but it was Burkina Faso’s night to shine! The next edition of FESPACO is set for February 27 - March 6, 2027, and the anticipation is already building!
