To anyone who might be stressed by the answer, calm down. If you can't understand his answer, then maybe move on and try to learn from a different Sheikh. Have minimum Respect even if you disagree or don't understand someone, especially if they are scholars or knowledgeable people. Try to Move on, and try to learn from a different scholar/imam/Sheikh about this. Maybe your local Mosque imam.

you don’t need a photo of yourself, its not required to have a photo of yourself on your resume either. If they want to see you, they can video call or interview you.

I'm gonna say it like this: What you step outside the will of Allah to get, you have to stay outside of His will to keep and that's a very, very dangerous place to be. Ask, sometimes we don't get because we don't ask, ask for permission to post a picture of a sunrise or a mountain stream, anything positive, because as a Muslim woman, you don't post pictures of yourself online. If they will not, thank them for their honesty and consideration, thank the Most High for protecting you from what you don't know, and go your way in peace. He may try your patience and your faith but in the end, if you are faithful, He won't put you to shame. Women have the benefit of being able to test an environment before entering it. Use that benefit and where you get fair warning, leave that place and don't cry for it.

First people discourage women from education and job because it is haram. And when she gets divorced and can't work because she never learned then people treat her as a burden.

It is crazy to think that women are told to cover themselves for modesty etc, but even after covering themselves, they still cannot be seen. In such situations, she can choose only to rely a getting married to a good husband, but what if she is divorced or the husband is unable to provide everything? No skills. No education. No work experience. She is left with no path to survive, unless she is able to marry again. Depending on the country, she may not even have the opportunity to be a first wife now.

This is how fascism work: start by little things. Forbide the photos on social media, forbide greetings people from another nation or religion, forbide chess, forbide music, forbide sports... Then forbide criticising sheicks, kings, govnt, islam, christianiaty, monks, priests... And liberty is dead.

I don't know who told that to this sister, but having a photo on LinkedIn isn't necessary. They don't care how you look like. They'll see anyways if you go for an interview

What's the proof that she can't do so? Is he other the impression that women must cover their face? If not she can go outside and show her face but couldn't take a pic for a job is this the claim? And also she can get a job and show her face but she can't have a resume with her picture ?

It's NOT Even allowed to put a woman's photo on their Passports, I KNOW OUR parents didn't put, but NOW TIMES HQVEVCHANGED SHAIKH SAHEB! Mufti's and Molvi's wives and daughters have photos on Passports, what CAN they do? And those in Western Countries?, leave Photos, Green Card needs a Photo WITH OUT Hijab, showing the right ear, what CAN THEY DO? I KNOW coz I am a US Citizen and HAD to do that for Mt Greeb Card Photo. What would I do, where would I go? Uganda kicked Out ALL Indians in 1972, they fled to Western Countries, THEY HAD to get like that photos, what WOULD They do? So jobs too now want Photos, but, most agree with hijab. I really think ppl should NOT Ask ANY Shaikh these questions as they HAVE to give what Sharia says answers, what CAN they do? Now ALL didn't follow under the ruling of Ali Ibne Abi Talib who taught how to answer ALL these types of Questions. Better to use what your brain and heart think.

Honestly so long as the female is portraying herself modestly and is being professional in the picture it isn’t that much of an issue. I get what he means, but this may fall under extremity. Alternatively, they could perhaps put their name instead of their face or perhaps even an animated picture of themselves. I’m not a scholar but I’m just simply providing suggestions. Additionally, one must control themselves and not let temptation get to him/her. If you can’t hold yourself together with a simple non suggestive picture of the opposite gender then that’s more of a YOU problem.

Tell them if you need to se my face it will have to be in person and with my mahram accompanying me. Of course, wear proper clothes and at least a veil.
