Curious which board everyone thinks is the best? I've only tried the 2016 Moonboard and OG Tension Board. I've heard great things about the Tension Board 2. 🤔 PS: latest video on board climbing technique is out now (with Kyra Condie!): https://youtu.be/3mrHLqhEJX0
Part 2 will be released in the next week or two :)

Tb2 is probably the best of standardized boards in terms of variety but spraywall is the best especially if it’s made well

@ParkerRamthun

TB2 is superior 💪

I’ve tried all three, and the TB2 has the best variety of hold types, movement styles, and foothold sizes. You can basically train anything from micro crimps to massive moves on jugs. Kilter is really fun and friendly but lacks for movement variety, and the hard climbs become very morpho and often have massive cross moves that you would never do outside. The moonboard is the weirdest of all, definitely my anti style but really good for training contact strength. Can’t really compare any of these to a well set spray wall, honestly the dream would be TB2 and a spray wall👍

Deciding between moon and tension is like deciding between my kids.

Spray is most enjoyable for me, as it unlocks the creative side of the brain. I love to improvise routes and focus on just the pure movement.

Think a well set spray with a psyched community certainly has the most potential and is particularly valuable for advanced climbers. However think systems boards hold a place for specific styles, easy access, and connecting the global community. Of which I would vote the TB2.

I’d be willing to bet 90% of voters have experience on only one maybe two of these boards.

My picks are TB1 and the kilter. They are fun and more accessible as a beginner while still having crazy hard climbs.

TB2 and then Kilter because so many gyms have one (and it’s a little more casual than the moon board)

TB2 is beyond comparable

I've climbed on all of these and TB2 is by far the best board. Best hold variety, density, and movement. Feels closest to the outdoor style. Also it basically IS a spray wall. If you took the TB2 spray layout, made the plastic holds different colors, and removed the lights, ppl would think it's an awesome spray wall.

Interesting how the Kilter gets the most votes. Wonder if this is because it is the most beginner friendly?

TB2 is by far the best

The Kilterboard is the most beginner friendly and allows you to progress for pretty long, a spraywall howevery unlocks way more options and combinations with volumes, macro holds, tiny crimps and all sorts of other varierty. Tension and Moon offer good strength training option too but are generally less beginner friendly and offer slightly less variety. In the end it comes down to preference but a well set spray wall always wins.

Tension. My gym replaced it with a Kilter board a couple of years ago and I miss it every time I use the Kilter.
