China built highways without harming farmers’ fields and fish ponds.

China has completed the Wuhan-Yangxin Highway (”Wuyang Highway”) with no harm to local farms or ponds, highlighting its focus on sustainable development. Now open, the highway cuts travel time from Wuhan to Yangxin to one hour, and from Wuhan Optics Valley to Ezhou to just 20 minutes.

As much as I despise their government for a few reasons, I find myself equally fascinated by architectural marvels that would never occur to be used in the US, especially when it comes to working with the land. China does well on that front.

I don't think swamp land is stable for concrete columns to be stationary to keep the highway up. Shifting and sinking in its future.
