Doctor Jacque | Child Anxiety & ADHD

Want to help me with an upcoming video?

The NEW video coming on WEDNESDAY 3/26 is all about consequences and discipline for kids with ADHD.

After making it, I realized there's still a lot more to say in another video.

But I need your help!

What are your questions, concerns, struggles, and successes about discipline for kids with ADHD?

I really appreciate it!

Kid’s with ADHD who don’t care (or at least say they don’t care) about the consequences…

We struggle with our 4 year old who has not been diagnosed but has a lot of the symptoms. We struggle to manage it but she is good in Montessori. How can we communicate with her to get dressed or to tell her off without sending her into a spiral of shouting and screaming at us. She either doesn’t hear us or goes straight to complete meltdown. It’s exhausting. She’s a great girl and really affectionate but very difficult to communicate with if she doesn’t want to do something.

@MB.-

I struggle with this. There isn't a perfect formula, especially with my 2e child (gifted & adhd).

How to tell its working and we can relax. Like what are signs that my adhd child is getting the right level of boundaries and discipline, when she's often more emotionally reactive, needs more support with lots of things and finds it harder to get things done than other children her age?

Thoughts on timeouts? Lately we have been having them in the end until our almost six year old can keep a safe body. But he hates to be alone. We still try to reassure him from a distance through the door or by talking through to him on the baby monitor.

Would there be different approaches due to Gender? I have adhd and so does my 7 year old daughter, struggling with anxiety and discipline while homeschooling.
