Health anxiety anyone? It’s super common in peri & post menopause and for good reason. Hormone fluctuations affect the autonomic nervous system(that controls things like breathing, your heartbeat and digestion and keeps your fight or flight and rest & digest in balance). When estrogen drops it’s no longer efficient at keeping the balance in check and your body becomes much more sensitive to every little change(and there are many in menopause).

EVERY little pain, flip flop, odd noise in the ears, dizzy spell, muscle ache, zap and so on sets off the alarms, cortisol and anxiety rise, you start questioning what horrible health issue is causing your discomfort and it spirals from there, over and over again with each new or reoccurring symptom. It’s horrible!

Controlling symptoms and calming your nervous system can help. If you can use hrt give it a go. I can’t! Bummer! Take a high quality collagen to reverse or at least control the discomforts and internal and external changes that come with collagen loss(there are many). This is not the area to try and save money! Repacing collagen can make a huge difference so invest in an effective one. To calm and balance the nervous system try hydration, slow breathing, gentle movement, clean eating, humming or singing, grounding or weighted blankets. There are many more things you can try. Those are a few. I’m still looking into this myself. It’s a work in progress but if you deal with any type or amount of menopause anxiety you know it’s worth the effort to control it. I hope this helps!❤️
