The Loricatherium is a creature of dubious origin. We believe it is a therapsid of some kind whose ancestors may go back as the Late Triassic based on the genetic material we've gathered and studied. Out of all the giant predators in The World Below, the Loricatherium is one we fear the most. Its body is covered in thick osteoderms that make bullets bounce off it. They are extremely aggressive and territorial and when provoked or enraged, they go absolutely berserk to the point running is the only option. All encounters with these creatures have resulted in several mass casualties to where we had to change our map routes in an attempt to avoid them.
Loricatherium are by far one the dominant apex predators in The World Below. Smaller predators run when they hear their call, which can be heard miles away. They do not back down from challenges from other predators that dare challenge them, or their own kind in most cases. They fight using their powerful jaws and swiping with their claws which can rend flesh and or break bones with ease.
Loricatherium are ambush predators that go after large game, ranging from bison, rhinos, giant sloths, and occasionally mammoths. Loricatherium will sometimes hunt in pairs to better increase their odds of a successful hunt, tho in most cases they are solitary hunters.
Their population seems to be dwindling for some strange reason, we haven't figured out why.
