TOURIST VISA EXTENSIONS
Please note the increase in the Express Lane Fee from ₱500 to ₱1,000.

The Express Lane Fee is technically optional, but in practice, most immigration offices will require you to pay it.

@KC-in9px

It is cheaper and all around better in Thailand. The Philippines continues to overcharge for substandard everything. The increase in BI fees and the forced use of fake express service is yet another reason why I'll choose to not revisit the PI in the future.

Very true ,Jennifer!.I could not pay the extension visa online because my I- card expired over 4 days before I tried it online.So that I was a Robinson mall in person in Dasmariñas and between the I - card over 3000 PHP and the express lane fee plus other fees it was over 7000 PHP. I thought that day ,this is incredible more expensive than online and I also must come back in person 3 weeks later to this same office for I would pick the card up and they call it express lane fee and more expensive over 1000 PHP 😂😂😂😂 Take care Jennifer, ingat ka pala

@Oracle_SD

I was told there is no opting out of the first express lane fee. If they try it again as I have no problem waiting for my passport to not pay the fee, then I will find another office to deal with.

Do you mean applying online? Because I do it myself at immigration office for a standard fee. I pick it up a few days later then. It's easy for me since it's only one jeepney ride for me. Yes I agree, increase for what? Like it's not their job to do it anyway? I guess people will choose other countries eventually since all costs add up to living here. Not so difficult for me moving to another country and spend my money there. Foreigners spend a lot of money anyway. Before you could at least get 6 months of extension but now only 2 months. Yes I know at main office you can get 6 months but it's too far going on a motorbike. And also us seniors can't get a discount unlike in some other countries because we spend a lot of money anyway.

I've paid the 3060 several times. That is a 1000 peso jump if it is now 4060. And last time they did not put the convenient stamp in the passport. Had to carry a bundle of papers with my passport when exiting. I've never been given an option not to pay Express Lane. I believe it means you get it back the same day.

Typical Philippines. Extra fees and zero reason to visit.

@mikeschiesel2852

I just yesterday applied for and paid for the extension that you mentioned. Even with this increase, it is well worth it and very easy to get done.
