I Dream of Indie Games

Do you watch full playthroughs of games?

@RoadKamelot2nd

No. I only watch the parts I'm stuck on or parts covering something I missed.

Usually for games I lost interest to play, but the story intrigues me, like God of War

@invisiblechicken

I used to, but I haven’t in a while

There are some games that I either dont have the time to play or just cant get on with the mechanics but I still want to see the story etc. So I watch playthroughs

As a kid, all I did was watch big let's plays of games I knew I'd never play As an adult who can now afford to play their own games, I unfortunately don't have time for either lol

@madness1931

Depends more on the player/creator. The game comes second. Even then, it's only to games I've no interest in actually playing.

@mdog86

I do with horror games, cause I'm too scared to play them myself lol

@jeffrodrequez

Only when I get stuck on something - see how they got through

I don't watch full walkthroughs. But i use full walkthrough videos to determine and calculate which percentage of the game i am at. For example if it's a 20 hour video, i find in the video where i am at the game, and look at the timestamp. Let's say i am at 16 hour mark. Then i am at 80% of the campaign.

I watch playthroughs of games I've already beaten if I need to remember something about the game. I like to write about the games I play, so that helps me a lot.

@amdza

There's some games I'm curious about, but know I'll never play. I love being able to put on a playthrough and enjoy.

Only for games Im interested in but have no intention of playing for like 5 years

When I was a kid, yes because my parents never bought me games so I could do playthroughs myself. Now as a young adult, who works full-time, I can buy whatever I want and do my own playthroughs.

@DogeWithaRose

Definitely. GTA5 back in the day, The Last Guardian last year, and Herdling a few days ago. Those are just the ones I remember

@Rambrus0

If I played the game and/or really like the let's players. It often needs good banter and at least two people for me to stick around. Jesse Cox and Dodger have some amazing let's plays, especially the Life is strange and weird FMV ones. Scary game squad is also probably the best horror lets players.

It's maybe been twice in my life that I've watched a full playthrough. I don't have that kind of time anymore.

@DaakkuuYRS

No. But I did watch almost all of my sister's playthrough of Detroit Become Human, and my brother's playthrough of Uncharted 1. I've played the game before them so it was fun to see their playthrough.
