Cool idea. I've seen many people online saying that hall effect sticks perform significantly worse than alps potentiometer based sticks.Would love to know your opinion on it.

as someone who likes lighter stick tension im always curious to see how much force each controllers sticks are, especially when they dont offer tension adjustment. i also feel its a good topic to discuss that if you swap thumbsticks in some cases the thickness of the stick column itself can create different response curves etc after recalibration.

This vid is an awesome idea! I have been researching TMR sticks due to the fact that they seem to be hands down the best for longevity and maybe even performance. In regard to performance, I have two worries at present, firstly the general things like can TMR sticks produce a linear output like potentiometer sticks. Other things like sensor accuracy, response time, resolution, sampling rate, stepping, and polling rate should be compared to potentiometer sticks. My final question/worry would be if any magnets on the controller can produce a signal that disrupts or even gets picked up by the TMR sensors. Thinking of the dualsense's use of LRA motors for haptic feedback I'm wondering if that type of vibration or in the future even greater levels of vibration for immersion could worsen the performance of TMR sticks. If these two worries are met with ur chillin then I think TMR sticks should become the standard. Thank you for offering to do this research for us!

Some topics to touch on: - Response curve differences - Resolution differences - Deadzones - Latency on identical boards - Asymmetry - Current best/worst variations of each type - Power consumption

Potentiometer feels so much better (when new, of course). I have 3 controller with halleffect thumbsticks and i dont like the way aiming feels (feels like they reach fast speed way to fast...it is weird).

Dunno where you are in the video but I'd love to see an exploration of the actual technology. Like 2 or 3 mins each explaining potentiometer vs hall vs tmr. For example, potentiometer tech isn't just manufacturers cheaping out. They have viability though no real longevity.

Always wondered about Hall Effect sticks if overtime they eventually fail.

Would love if u could do a breakdown of best elite console controllers of the year need some recommendations/guidance with Christmas coming up trying to up my FPS gaming without breaking the bank!

I fix controllers, i play CoD games a lot. Switching from ALPS to GuliKit TMR (Scuf Reflex FPS) is like: feels slower and more precise aim than Alps. I already calibrate sticks 2 times, this TMR can also get some small stick drift.

Imagine a video where a controller reviewer compares these controllers. Blitz2 TMR, Cyclone 2, Vader 4 Pro, Kk3……I’d imagine people would want to see something like that 😏

Low dead zone with no stock drift, when you rest your thumb on the stick will cause drifting because the stick is so sensitive so I can't really use low dz. Also makes my aim shaky because I can keep aim in one spot easily.

Real shit though, if you dont got one can you do a vid with latency comparisons

Would love to look into how the TMR and hall sticks and actually working, as opposed to theoretically working. On some controllers it feels like due to bad springs or other things, that there are weird centering issues. I’ve played a lot better on alps sticks than both tmr and hall, but I don’t know why.

Go over if ultra low joystick latency actually matters (overclocked DualSense and PowerA OPS vs. everything else)

Why you poo poo domes? I’ve been on domes for a few years and recently got a RzrWv3 and the concave are not it for me. Feels like my ability to make micro adjustments has a huge gap as my thumb moves across the gap. Thoughts?

I used kontrol freeks for years and seen pros don’t use them and it took me awhile to get used to not having them but once I did my shot got way better lol. They can be more comfortable but other than that just a gimmick.

A sequel is in order. One featuring Hall, TMR, and potentiometer sticks with a much more meticulous deep dive. What do you think and what specific things would you like covered in such a video?
“How >Anti Stick Drift< Thumbsticks Affect Your Aim”
I think it a nice ring to it.
Also! I’ve had some videos shot recently that were delayed because of the situation last week. More stuffs on the way
