Howard Wimshurst Animation

I sink dozens of hours into these edits and even when my video performs multiple times higher than average, YouTube doesn't even pay out enough for a bag of groceries. I've been uploading for more than 10 years, accumulating hundreds of thousands of subscribers, Yet 90% of them won't be shown my video by youtube.

Not looking for a pity party, I'm not in financial trouble, and I'm not about to quit making videos. I'm just saying - This video launching today took a LOT of work. I had a great time and I'm proud of it, and would love for my subscribers to be able to see it. https://youtu.be/2iOMPcJ3E9g
If you care about the work I do here, the videos I put out for free, it would mean a lot to me if you tune in for this one. Just click onto the video and tap the like button. Perhaps leave a comment if you have time, or show it to someone you know who is into animation. Thanks. Have a great day.

@taffisworld

the same thing’s been happening to my channel for over a year now. I may be at a fraction of your subscriber count, but for a channel with 11k subs, it can really suck to put your all into long form videos to then barely scrape a couple hundred views, as if your videos are being hidden from most of your audience. I loved your new video and it’s been great to see you back to posting consistently with great video ideas and discussions. Try to keep your head up bro, that’s all we can really do!

I love listening to you talk away and work through your animations, all the while I'm working on mine. Love your stuff and insight.

Sorry to hear this, I’ve been following you since 2020 lockdown and I like your content, your animations are really soulful and meaningful. Everyone seems to enjoy mindless content and drama these days. I think worldbuilding and storytelling matters a lot these days especially for those not pursuing trends.

@harrybeann

That sucks mate. You deserve the big bucks for these vids. I would’ve thought YouTube pays more rpm for animation/teaching channel you have

You're my biggest inspiration howard, i just love your artstyle and whenever i want inspiration for a project (i'm a hobbyist animator and an architect)...i come to your channel..watching your works make me want to step out of my comfort zone and try something crazy that i'd never imagine myself animating...you're a gem please never stop making videos for our sakes😊😊

@crusader2603

You’re looking at this wrong. 680 watch time hours is nothing. At your rate you’re making roughly $1 every 31 hrs of watch time. This can change based on retention, genre of video, etc. Channels that have made $120k in revenue have garnered over 1.2m hrs in watch time. If you’re wanting to see a profit even on a 4 digit revenue scale. You are going to need a hell of a lot more than 689 watch time hours. This isn’t a YouTube issue it is a niche issue. Your content is simply not gaining enough traction to reflect a good profit stream.

I'm subscribed, bell on and everything but I didn't get a notification. I barely even saw this post, probably would have missed it altogether if I wasn't doom scrolling. Idk what's off but I saw I also missed your past two vids.

@soyboy_NPC

It’s probably because you had that period when you didn’t post much. I’ve haven’t even noticed you’ve posted videos the last few months. YouTube didn’t show me any of them. Also, AI is gonna take over animation, it’s going to be one of the first jobs that will be gone. It was my dream but it’s obvious that in a few years it will replace 90% of what an animator does. It’s soul crushing but it’s reality

Is it even legal for YouTube to not pay you for the correct amount you're owed? I hear this keeps happening and is a common occurrence

@wadenobisemartuccianimatio8366

YouTube is suffering with this? when as a Small Creator myself that's also making animations man it is hard to find some viewers that watches my content everyday even if I'm away making some content before uploading videos. 😮 My viewers mostly come sometimes I wish it could be every time or every day 📺🌍🌏

@bacboss

Maybe your channel is flagged or has a low score in the eyes of algorithms, maybe trying a new channel can give you a hint of where is the problem of engagement ..

@renashbellrn

Problem is, maybe youtube doesn't favors you. Look at Jaiden Animation who gets a ton of views with the same "style" animation. Maybe collab with someone or do animation of something hype like when the Dream SMP is a boom and SAD-ist comes into play from amateur talent.

@frantzbarichard

Its because its been 10 years your drawing skills and "style"have been the same (same heads, same shapes that are too basic).you should up your game, refinevyourcwork, be more perfectionnist, look at animation movies like redline or animatrix, get better, take a challenge loke making a movie in 2 years and post eon youtube your updates
