Showing a caged bird in a calypso tease is a great visual metaphor. She’s trapped on the island, and she in turn tries to trap Odysseus there with her. She’s both caged and a captor.

Okay, but FINALLY!!! Someone drawing them not just on the beach as if Ody just washed up. She's literally saying, "You've been resting for a while. I swore that you were dead when you washed up on my isle! Did you know you talk in your sleep?" She'd been around Ody long enough to have heard him repeatedly talk in his sleep (and not just about Penelope; Calypso just clung to that female name the most intensely). Of course, she wouldn't just leave him to bake in the sun and soaking in seawater while unconscious in the sand! She'd take him to her home, clean him up, dress his wounds, put him to bed, watch over him as he heals. I can't be more excited that someone finally went down this logical route instead of thinking, "Oh, we hear the ocean? That means he's on the shore!" but on a quiet island, you can hear the ocean no matter where you are.

Apparently, Calypso dragged Odysseus to her bedroom after he was brought to the island unconscious. If this is true, it's a very good detail! In many animations, Odysseus wakes up in the sand, and Calypso only approaches him then. It's as if she didn't care about him at all, like, "Is this the first man I've met in my life? Well, then let him lie here until he wakes up." It would make sense for her to bring him to her chambers. We can't wait for the animation to arrive! I love your Calypso design! ❤️🔥
