Barbara Kingsolver wrote a book, "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" which is about her family doing that same thing for a year. I enjoyed reading it.

I grow my own Chamomile tea flowers. Pick your flowers let them dry out and blend them in a small blender. If you want some for next year you should start them now. They also reproduce and expand in the area they grow so you dont have to start over every year. Good luck with your challenge.

Asheville Tea Company sources their ingredients from local farmers. Also, Yaupon Holly, native to NC and the southeastern US, contains caffeine (the only native plant in the US to contain caffeine, that we know of) as well as having many medicinal properties, so it can replace both your tea and coffee

We can grow tea in the Carolinas. The only commercial tea plantation in the U.S. is in South Carolina. We grow some tea plants here in the Piedmont.

My family owns Ward Farm Supply in Parkersburg WV.I wanted to see if you guys could do water glassing with you farm fresh eggs. I have a few customers that come in and looking for the supplies you need to do it. I thought it would be a good learning experience for people since it seems like it’s becoming popular. Thanks in advance 😊

Can you please tell Rebecca to try roasting tomatoes an onion and pepper. Then blend and freeze dry. Then blend into powder. Space saver and you just add water or broth to make anything from paste to sauce. Watch your family every night.

The majority of what we currently eat is local or stuff we grow including tea but the hard things to give up would be snacks and cooking oil since we don’t currently have access to quality butter or lard.

You should grow peanuts then you could make your own peanut butter they like a sandy soil and if you have raspberry plants you could make raspberry tea out of the leaves

Starting August 1st we’ll be doing what we’re calling Grow30 where we eat only what we’ve grown or sourced locally (within 100 miles).
No coffee, tea, bananas, peanut butter ect…
Who’s down to do the challenge with me?
