The boy was probably doing it to fit in with the rest of his friends. He might not have been the leader of the pack. Tragic. Those kids had no business disturbing the peace at 11 at night, and the shooter over reacted. Horrible outcome.

Its unfortunate that the child didn't know he was playing a dangerous game at his expense. He should have been taught to respect people's boundaries because it can lead to trouble. Especially, when someone knocks or kicking on neighbors doors at a certain time can make the person angry.
