a pattern ive noticed is that a lot of anime fans start out anime only and end up preferring to just read the manga. why is that?

What do you think of the upcoming potential of chinese anime or Donghua? Is it something that interests you at all? Does it realy matter as long as the series is well written and tells a great story?

1.) Has there ever been a series that changed the way you see storytelling in anime/manga? 2.) If you could rewrite the ending of any anime/manga, which would it be, and how would you change it?

What matters most in a 'good story?' Characters? Plot? Animation? Though it is subjective, I think it's interesting to hear what people think.

I feel like the fact that mangas are released chapter by chapter makes everything short sighted and very frontloaded. This is most likely why a lot of anime and manga start to lose direction and cohesion the further they go on, as the authors most likely never really planned for this and just improvise their way through it all. I believe this is a major reason very few mainstream manga/anime have satisfying endings. What are your opinions on this?
