๐ŸŽƒ Halloween is coming up soon. So lets take a look back at my extra spooky episode on Mandrake Fruit. This is a fugu of the fruit world with arguably only one part that can be eaten.

๐Ÿ“บ Tune in TOMORROW for an all NEW episode on an even scarier plant, the Gympie Gympie. It is considered to be the most painful plant in the world AND it has a fruit... oh boy.

Yay! I've been waiting on the Gympie Gympie video! You mentioned it at the end of you're 10 year anniversary video, if I'm not mistaken. Can't wait to watch it! Jsut a side note. For anyone who isn't too familiar with the science boys on YouTube, Thebackyardscientist did a great video on Gympie Gymipe a while back. His was also educational for science. He just came at it from, what I'm certain, is a very different approach than the controlled documentation approach of Jared's videos

I have similar looking things that grow near me, but I haven't determined what they are. [edit: I'm in E. TN] During the summer they're a medium green with darker green banding, which kinda looks like a tiny watermelon (the dark green variety). A few months ago they turned yellow, which is the same color they are now. From what I recall, I determined they weren't Mandrake. Though sadly I can't remember what the flowers look like... (though looking up "Mandrake flower", they're DEFINITELY not that, as these are on a thin and tall plant 1-2ft off the ground and the flowers would be small)

Isn't Mandrake Toxic? Atropine Rich Plant in Roots, Leaves and Flowers? If it is not like Tomatoes: Go with the Flow... away from Poisonous Plants [I mean it is Called "The Devil Apple" there must be a Valuable Reason to it...]
