Freya Holmér

I was supposed to release the spline video today, but it's looking very unlikely at this point. Editing has taken way longer than I thought, so I'll have to delay a day or two :c

I give it a 75% chance of release 24h from now , a 20% chance 48h from now, and a 5% chance of, later than that

Sorry to those of you who were waiting ❤

As a side effect, this means the deadline for getting your name in the credits has been pushed as well, there's another 12 hours ish from the time of this post where you can still get in, if you'd like to support me!

I just watched the final video : it is an incredible masterpiece: content, clarity, helpful and incredible visualisations, a clear and calm voice, some fun parts, everything is perfect!

Great video- I am glad to have watched it all the way to the end because I'm an oldtimer mech. engineer and remember naval engineers speaking of the 'fairness of the line' and using wooden batons and leaded weights to draw ship lines (it's called lofting IIRC)- and I've been approaching the subject of this video from that perspective. And, while one can easily see this method as yielding a set of 3rd degree curves connecting the points, I believe the most accurate way of analyzing their method (including not only forces at given points to produce the curve but also the friction between the baton and the paper) will result in 4th degeree curves. So I'm glad that you also tried it, but I think the problem you encountered with it because the curves you applied it to are a bit too 'radical'- I think it should work very well with curves that don't have Z shape but are more gentle like S shape. Keep up the good work. 👍

I understand it's not how the announcement was meant, but I read it "better do it now (be done in a day or two) or it'll never get finished". It's not to be read as feedback on this channel, but a life lesson somehow: Keep your expectations right. :-)

@glitched.gaming

Are you working on any more videos? I just found your Splines video. It was not only informative, it was inspirational. I want to create ways to explain things the way you did for me. I struggled with polynomials and matrices, specifically in programming. Thank you Freya!

Not sure why I'm seeing this post now, but the video was worth the wait

Oh, please hurry, at that rate if it's not finished in three day it has 0% of getting finished 🤯. Seriously though take your time, nobody's dying from waiting a couple of days

Hello! I'd like to know if you ever worked on a Pokemon ROM hack? I recently found a very old pokemon rom hack with the file name "Pokemon Obscure V1.4 by Acegikmo Enterprises [C].gbc" and searching on the internet led me to you. I found an old forum post of yours that was dated before the time I think this rom hack was made, so I at least know you were alive back then. I just got struck with the idea to find some context for that very weird rom hack. (The main character is turned into a giant nose in it.) I'm sure this is the longest of longshots though.
