Since I've been brining my friend Travis through Terraria for the first time, it had me wondering how many people stuck with the game through its various stages. In about a week I'll be releasing the video on Travis exploring the underworld for the first time and I made this interesting discovery that a whole 10.4% of Terraria's player base has found the underworld but never beaten the wall of fresh. Is it because they never felt like it or never figure it out? How long did it take you to figure it out?

@TheHollowedSage

When I was a kid, I didn’t really have any devices to look things up on. It took me WEEKS to figure out how to enter what was referred to as “Hardmode”. It wasn’t until a friend at school told me that I was able to figure out what the WoF was 😅

We need to protect Travis, he is too precious for this world.

I would guess that they either didn't care for the pre-hardmode gameplay and dropped it before it was time to kill the wall, or, they started on expert/master. The reason I say that is because the wall is actually super hard if you haven't already established a strategy on those difficulties, so it's possible the wall was a literal barrier to entry for anybody that started on a harder difficulty than classic

@IHOMilk

I always get way too distracted prepping my world for hard mode, like quarantining the evil biomes so they don’t immediately ruin everything and setting up pylon networks. Then never actually get to hard mode.

I'm currently helping a friend of mine through her blind playthrough of Terraria. There are a lot of little intricacies that the game does not explain, which make things so much easier. Everything from how to turn on/off Smart Cursor, to quick stacking loot, to how to expand your inventory via piggy bank, safe, void bag, etc. And now she's absolutely hooked. 🤣

The "it's getting hot in here achievement" out of context is crazy

The rarest achievement I have is not beating moon lord, it's beating the torch god. It is one of the rarest achievements sonehow.

For me the first time, I did know of his existence when I first played Terraria from watch the PBG Hardcore Terraria series, however I was not aware of how difficult fighting this living flesh would actually be, even when playing on Classic Mode. I was only able to beat it when I built a hellbridge on my own without knowing it is a common but effective strategy and was geared up properly for the fight.

"The Wall of Fresh" now thats clean.

I think some of that 10% could be people who stopped playing in 1.0, because the underworld existed, but not the wall of flesh.

It took me and my brothers two years to beat the WoF after on and off playing. We were pretty young, so we didn't know exactly what we were doing. This was also back in 1.2 where there was a lot less stuff to use. It took us ages to finally figure it out and build a hellbridge.

I played it back when it was new on Xbox, haven’t touched it on PC yet but still have been a fan from afar. I’ve been loving watching your videos lately though and I didn’t realize how much has been added, like the class system is completely new me. I will likely pick it up soon. 😊

I figured it out instantly because I've been reading changelogs after every update and clicking "Help" when talking to the Guide.

I at first had no idea what "hardmode" was, and I assumed it was just Expert, so I made a new world on this difficulty and learned that, no, it's not it... And then I accidentally killed a woodoo demon over a lava lake. Safe to say I learned what to do.

It depends on what I feel like. There are some achievements that I haven't gotten even a single time in years, because I either didn't understand them or because they're not worth the effort (collecting every Town Slime, Golden Delight, etc.).

As someone who inevitably does everything in games like these. I always enjoy looking through achievements and seeing stuff like this. My favorites from Minecraft Xbox edition are - 57% of players open their inventory - 53% of players punch a tree to get wood - 47% of players have made a crafting table (I remember this used to be higher than those who opened their inventory. Somehow.)

Id heard it as a rumour at school back when the WOF update first came out, tried it out myself and was terrified

I found it back in 2017 for my 8th birthday when me and a bunch of friends played together for the first time. We explored for hours until we ended up finding the underworld. We ran around down there for a while until a voodoo demon came and killed all but one of us. And the remaining friend killed it and summoned the boss. Very exiting time for me and a bunch friends that year.
