In Australia we have a place called Yarrangobilly, an amazing place in a national park in the mountains where it snows and you can swim in the thermal pool while there’s snow all around. Kind of gives you both those options at the same time.

I was deployed to Iceland for 45 days and enjoyed at 3x a week visit to the Blue Lagoon. Absolutely amazing!

I’ll choose Banff: icy mountain hike followed by geothermal hot springs

Option 3: I'd rather relax in a warm cabin on a snowy mountain hillside.

I’ve done both. Both were awesome. Went to the Blue Lagoon in Iceland this summer and I personally liked it more than icy mountain hike

Neither. Too cold up the mountain. Too many people around a geothermal pool. But a quiet cabin on the side of the mountain overlooking a lake would be nice.

99% of the people that chose “icy mountain hike” have never been on an icy mountain.

Maybe they have not been on an icy mountain before. But if I could get a really warm shelter with enough wood supply for the long winter I think I would prefer that before some bungalow in that wetlands that could be swept at sea when the next hurricane came along. And Snow and Glaciers contain freshwater - absolutely essential for our lives. A bonus.

Would you rather bundle up for an icy mountain hike ❄️ or relax in a geothermal lagoon? 💧
