What's your biggest headache with 3D texturing?

I create all my textures just fine my only issue is sometimes I’ll be thinking of an idea in my head for how an object should look and I get something close to it but I feel like something isn’t quite right. I’m still learning but it’s annoying sometimes. Granted I do feel I’m a lot better off than everyone who has to go buy textures and what not.

No matter how many textures I create, it will always be my Achilles heel, and especially procedural (as in Adobe Substance Designer) I will never understand it. Personally, I prefer modeling/sculpting, I know that textures change the model 180 degrees. That's why I prefer to apply textures (and create interesting variations from it) the way it's done, for example, in Substanse Painter, where I just use what's in this whole library, than create them from scratch.
