My Japanese grandmother used to say "iitadakimas" before every meal. I asked her what it meant and she said it was a thank you to everyone and everything who had a hand in making that meal. Whoever cooked and set the table. People at the grocery store and the truck driver, the farmer, the sun, rain, God, etc. There is so much that goes into every act of creation. Thank you for all that you do to make us laugh!

My mom always said “choose again” whenever she would kill a bug. I finally asked her about it recently and she said it was just in case someone was reincarnated and she wished them better the next time 🖤

I always thank hotel rooms after staying in them for their safety. Just feels right

That’s such a beautiful thing to do. We really never give ourselves enough grace or thanks.

Gratitude is so healthy for us. Thanking everything and everyone involved is lovely. I imagine it would be helpful at the end of a project to really absorb the accomplishment before moving on to the next thing 😊 I will be doing this more intentionally from now on

Unrelated, but I absolutely love your animations! My day doesn’t feel complete unless I watch your “Out the Window” video XD

Self appreciation is important when you do things you love. Positive self talk and gratitude is important. Good job🎉

I recently learned of a French animated movie called Kirikou and the Sorceress and I literally thought "This is the kind of movie Saberspark would make a video about"

Not weird at all. Sometimes if I can’t sleep, I’ll tell each body part that it’s relaxed. Helps with the bees in my brain.

ig it’s somewhat unrelated but whenever i mess up on something when i’m drawing, i’ll slap my hand and say “bad.” then get it right the next attempt. crazy how you can knock sense into yourself

I used to believe in animism as a child and still find myself calling things 'Sir' or saying excuse me to objects I bump into and saying thank you when something helps me. Sometimes I think it's something deep in our DNA, from a time before, when our ancestors used to live by those things. And now, I just call my waffle iron a dick when it won't stay open.

javadoodles
just finished another animation, which i will be uploading shortly. this one is REALLY funny.
i dont know if this is weird or not, but after i finish an animation, i always say a little "thank you" to my mind/brain, my hand/arm/shoulder, my computer, my software, etc. and anything that contributed to the project.
sometimes i say it aloud but other times i say it in my head. just feels nice, idk. showing gratitude in small ways to yourself and the things that are a part of the creative process.
uploading in a bit ᵕ̈
