Love your content and that sounds like an interesting approach. That capping looks quite wide - it may pay to put some crossfall on it so that water doesn’t pond against the base of the joist and compromise the integrity over a sustained period. There are also low profile aluminium decking systems available which can be used for WPC or solid timber decking that may be a more suitable solution - plus they are easy to lift in the event of you may need to clear the troughs.

Progress on this roof top balcony, the roofer has started to flash the trays!
When we install the deck on top, we’ll be laying joists on top of the posies, without screwing/shooting them down at all. The joists will be glued down and that’s it.
It’s all be signed off that we can build it this way, but will continue to be a very different/interesting approach
