Today is Remembrance day in Canada, a day to honour all those who fought and died for our freedom.
We wear poppies over the heart as a symbol of recognition of the sacrifices our troops made and make. This tradition goes back to the end of WW1, where Canada lost over 66,000 lives. When we read numbers like that, it’s easy to forget every single one was a person with hopes, dreams, fears, goals, family, friends and beliefs.
At exactly 11:00am, we maintain two minutes of silence to signify the end of World War One. This also allows each individual time to honour our servicemen and women. Please take a moment, and remember those who lived, fought and died in absolute hell, for us.
