I resonate so deeply with “Stay a Little Longer,” “Number One Girl,” and “Two Years” For me, these songs aren’t “just about an ex.” They capture the feeling of being vulnerable of craving the kind of love and attention you never received from the person you wanted it from the most That longing that keeps pulling you back, even when you know they’re the wrong one.
And honestly I’ve never cried over a song in my life except when I listened to “Stay a Little Longer". It felt like the rawest expression of someone who wanted to be loved so badly, and I connected with that more than I expected.
