If I get in bed and don't have mine, I have to get up and go get it. Good for you getting a custom, dentist-fabricated guard. OTC guards can help protect against attrition (teeth grinding against each other), but the softer material can often promote clenching, which isn't great for your jaw joints (thus the fine-print warning about TMD\TMJ on most of them), and you can still put hydraulic cracking forces into the teeth (smooshing the soft material into the grooves of your teeth, essentially), where the custom hard guards should distribute the forces better. They should also stay in better and last longer than OTC products.

Yeah, when we said stay on your grind, we didn't mean your teeth.

Congrats! I probably need one too. I'll be curious to read your experience after a while, if you feel like sharing it.
