The only thing more embarrassing than getting your CC declined to pull out a 2nd card & getting that one declined too. š

"Try it again", because if I'm spending money then I know FOR CERTAIN that I have enough in the account. Otherwise I'd have stayed at home.

Check account and make sure nobody stole money and then transfer more over.

5th Option... "Must be fraud protection because this is a CC with 20k limit that I pay off weekly" (i've never had a card decline except for traveling international)

Iām also saying that the bankās stays must be down because there would be no reason the card would not go through.

On the morning of my payday I stopped at the garage on the way to work to put petrol in the car. At the checkout my card couldn't make the payment due to insufficient funds. I didn't have any other cards. I rang my husband and he came to my rescue. I was an hour late for work as I wasn't allowed to leave the garage until the petrol was paid for. None of the employees got paid that morning due to a technical issue. It's the most embarrassing situation I have ever been in.

Just transfer more from the account i have my actual money on, its stupid to have your money on the card account when you dont need to, just gives it a chance to be pulled by something you dont intend

I'll go to my bank app and send myself some money from another bank. Takes some time, but there's no other way around.

Check email from the credit card company to confirm that the transaction is yours, and ask the salesperson to charge again.

We've only got the one credit card but I've got two debit cards. One for the normal checking account and one for the emergency fund. I'd use another card then call the bank to see what's up. I worked as a software developer at a company that managed HSA accounts including having a debit card tied to the account. As part of the job we occasionally had to do real world testing of the transaction software to make sure updates to the system were properly approving or denying transactions. So we'd go to the local drug store, explain that we were doing tests on the benefits card and that this charge should be denied, then the next one should go through, etc. I never cared for doing that. You always got such funny looks and even though the company had arranged it with the stores management ahead of time you usually wound up explaining it all again to some manager that hadn't gotten the message.

Iād be upset because 2 of my cards should certainly never decline. Amex Gold and my Debit. I would never be making a purchase on the gold it wouldnāt approve as itās paid in full monthly. And my debit card if needed is set up where it will overdraft (the bank advisor told me in college to do this if I had an emergency as rather have fees then be somewhere with no money). I never changed it and donāt use my debit card anymore but itās there I guess lol.
