Early career engineer here, but perhaps videos on helping engineers understand how to break through into Director, manager, or principal roles? Helping us understand what changes are needed in mindset, habits, skills, problem solving, etc.

I just discovered your channel today. I graduated top 4% of my mechanical engineering class in 2009, into an environment where three quarters of job interviews included the recruiter asking "If we changed this job into an unpaid internship would you still do it?" I graduated top 3% of my class for my masters, and did no better. I went to conferences, had a bunch of additional certifications, did everything you've been recommending for years, and all I got was ridicule. I have literally had recruiters laugh at me for thinking I had a chance with "only" a 3.7 GPA among all my certifications. I've tried at maintaining my education since, I still try to go to conferences, but I've been working two jobs since 2013 just to get by and I can't devote much time to it. I know there are a lot of us who got ground down after 2008 and never recovered, it would be nice if you could help us find I way to try to get jobs that doesn't lead to hiring managers calling you and telling you you're worthless and wasting their time even trying.

Hi Jake, Iβm at the opposite end after years of working in the hotel management field, then becoming a Barber and running my own shop. Went back to school to become a welder got my Associates degree and work as a robotic welder. Now I decided to go back again this time for my BS in Mechanical Engineering technology. Here in Maine this program is ABET accredited and you sit for your FE license after and then can get your PE license after an additional 4 years . My question, is what type of differences are there between the Mechanical Engineering (theoretical) versus the 4 year Mechanical Engineering Technology (applied) degree? Does it matter greatly in the field or is this a unique program for my state?

1% Nation! I have a YouTube & career update for you, and a question at the end!
When I started this channel six years ago, the content was intended for a 25-35 year old engineering professional audience. That's why it's called, "1% Engineer" - to help young engineers rise to the top 1% of their career.
But something unexpected happened.
I discovered that most of 1% Nation was a student aged 18-24. These people not yet worried about their career, because they need to survive being a student. What they were worried about was choosing the wrong engineering major! So I made a lot of videos about major choice, which is not universal to the community, and therefore, impossible to sustain a channel this way.
So I stopped uploading videos and went back to civil engineering. In the spring of 2021, I moved to Philly and returned to an engineering firm I was with previously - this time in a marketing/strategy/business development role.
Two years+ into that and I'm so happy. I figured it out guys. How to get what you want in your engineering career, and I want to get back to helping and teaching you guys how to best navigate these waters. I want to help you guys summit too.
Here is the question: what type of career videos do you want to see if I return in the fall?
Thank you, 1% Nation! <3
Jake
