i like the Skull Island having like, weird made up monsters way cooler than just a dinosaur island, it makes the place feel way more scarier

I honestly think the Monsterverse is one of the best reworks of the character. I also like it when Kong is tied into some nature magic element.

Not an hot take of mine but me older sister once said that the natives calling him Kong was massive plot hole because she thought that « Kong » meant « gorilla » in English and therefore, they knew how to speak English despite having no contact with the outside world lmao

I liked what the movie King Kong Lives did by having Lady Kong alongside King Kong. Seeing him having a happy ending, for as brief as it was, made that movie's existence worth it.

For a serious hot take, I'm more interested in the creatures of Skull Island especially the creepy crawlies of the Insect Pit than King Kong himself. But for a goofier take, I think Godzilla vs Kong 3 should have Mecha Kong, Mecha King Caractis, Mecha Giant Lumpy, and Mecha Gaw.

I like both interpretations, monsterverse and classic Kong ideas. Though admittedly, I think Kong shouldn’t fight other named monsters like Godzilla or King Ghidorah. I think he should have his own monsters like the monster verse animated series

There was like a version of Mechani-Kong in the Godzilla the Series(Zilla Jr.) animated show. But even in Monsterverse having a roboduplicate is retreading at this point. Unless Monarch has like there version of Mechagodzilla/Kiryu, Moguera, Jet Jaguar.

Son of Kong (1933) isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. Sure, it’s goofy and has its issues but I had a fairly decent time with the movie.

I think Kong works best when he feels more like a real gorilla than like a person. The humans should never be able to fully trust him to not hurt someone even if he doesn’t mean to do it intentionally.

Up next is the King Kong iceberg! So let's hear your King Kong hot takes! I'll go first, while Mechani-Kong is a really fun idea unless you're doing an insanely silly not serious at all Kong project you can't really use him. Like even in the Monsterverse I don't think Mechani-Kong would work. Really only the showa era that makes sense.
