I received the following email just now: "A Bluesky account you control (@merrystarchild.bsky.social) posted content that was reviewed by Bluesky content moderators and identified as harassment, which is in violation of our Community Guidelines. As a result, the post has been taken down.
Bluesky explicitly prohibits harassment. This includes harassment or abuse directed at a specific person or group, including sexual harassment and gender identity-based harassment. You cannot use Bluesky to break the law or cause harm to others. All users must be treated with respect.
Thank you for doing your part to keep Bluesky a welcoming and empowering place for all users. If you have any additional questions or wish to appeal this decision please email moderation@blueskyweb.xyz.
Bluesky Moderation Team"
No mention of which post was taken down, nor how it violated policy. Nothing I have posted has actually violated policy, but there *are* people who are exploiting the fact that most of Bluesky's moderation is algorithm based now, and it's very easy to get accounts suspended or banned if you mobilize enough people to mass-report an account. Because Bluesky's moderation service is staffed by four cats and a potato, the odds that they will ever see, much less address or work on, an appeal email or even answer one of your emails is almost zero, unless you are famous or big enough to be able to cause a ruckus and get attention.
The list that accuses me of impersonating myself is still up, incidentally. I sent emails to moderation and they have never answered.
Bluesky painted itself as a haven from twitter, but it's clear that it's very much the same kind of toxicity that is easily weaponized by bullies.
