Guys I think I found a pattern in these major earthquakes, or maybe it is just a huge coincidence.
On December 2004, a 9.2 earthquake struck on the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia.
On March 2011, a 9.1 earthquake struck on the coast of Tohoku, Japan.
On August 2018, an 8.2 earthquake struck on the coast of Lakeba, Fiji.
On July 30, 2025 (The day before yesterday at the time of this posting), an 8.8 earthquake struck on the coast of Kamchatka, Russia.
For summary, each earthquake had 8+ magnitudes, and seemed to appear septennially. And, all of these have a thing in common. All of them occured on coasts.
Am I missing something? Let me know in the comments!
