My latest astrophoto — the Omega Nebula! The Omega Nebula (Messier 17/M27) is a massive, active star-forming region located approximately 5,500 light-years away in the constellation Sagittarius. Also known as the Swan Nebula and Lobster Nebula, it contains one of the galaxy's youngest star clusters, with some stars being only one million years old. The nebula is a hotbed of stellar activity, producing bright emission nebulae colored by chemical elements like red (sulfur), green (hydrogen), and blue (oxygen).
