What's your most unpopular 40K opinion? I'll go first. Ravenor is better than Esienhorn. Esienhorn has more stand out over the top moments, but Ravenor is a smaller more well structured story, it lets us dwell with the cast of characters longer and gives all of them time to really shine. It's a bummer because I have spoken to so many people who thought Dan Abnett's inquisitor series is only a trilogy. In reality it's 9 books long with the final one supposedly on the way. They all stopped after Esienhorn ends and miss out some of the best 40k writing of all time. Then when they do find out there's more there like " Oh the next series is just Esienhorn's apprentice? that sounds lame I'll pass". I will freely admit, I was one of those people, and it took me years to give Ravenor a chance. From Esienhorn, into Ravenor ( brief side trip with The Magos) and then into Bequin, its a series that just keeps getting better and better. If I'm being honest with you, I was and still am more excited for the 3rd Bequin book than I was for The End And The Death.
