The question is specifically toughest, not strongest, not most powerful, not most durable, toughest. Tough in my mind is the ability to withstand pain and suffering, and with that in mind, Logan is the toughest character and easily wins this for the X-Men.

Sentry would wipe them all. I’ll never forget the comic where void single handily beat god of magic doctor strange, sorcerer supreme Loki, and Harold of Galactus Thor. And he made it look easy. Or the time sentry fought molecule man and molecule man deleted him from existence and sentry just came back and molecule man did this over and over and sentry kept coming back. To the point where sentry learned he has the same power as molecule man but better and then deletes him on the spot.

Ice man is capable of freezing the earth while in an unstoppable ice form.... Phoenix force would stomp Wanda... Professor X can mind F everyone on the avengers. Thor has lightning, storm has that and every other force of nature.... I could go on....

Thunderbolts with Sentry win, without him, they’re last 😂. X-men are tougher than the Avengers by quite a bit, Professor X can prbly defeat them all by himself. Add in Iceman, Phoenix and Wolverine and none of the Avengers really stand a chance
