No need to force yourself. Make videos when you feel inspired to! I really love how genuine it all is. Live your life and create when it's the right time!

S'all good man. As (technically) a writer, I get the spiral of self-imposed pressure and expectation. Do what you gotta do.

I totally understand that feeling of pressure to accomplish something more significant, and how it only grow over time if it remains unfinished. And I suspect many of us feel that way, so no worries. Glad that you are back Though I find it a bit ironic that my discovery of the channel happened during this little ‘drought’ of content…

We don’t watch you because you upload stuff all the time. We watch you because you provide genuinely great content and thus watching your videos is an active choice we make. Take pride in that. People want to watch you not because your content is being shoved down our throats by the algorithm but rather because your content is very much worthy of being enjoyed.

I think I speak for most people when I say no one pays attention to upload schedules, we just click when we see a new one :)

Id rather watch one video per year from a creator that had fun making the video than ten from someone who didnt enjoy it. Take your time. Or even lower the quality at times. You owe us nothing. Im just happy to watch them.

Be well. I enjoy your work and travel to be with friends for watching it. Cow tools is a running joke that entices a hermit out of the woods for an occasional YouTube binge of your quality content.

I would love to hear your thoughts on fantasy being ‘escapism’ and whether that is a critique of the genre.

I get the feeling. I'm coming out of a period of impostor syndrome with my writing that was borne from expecting too much output from myself. Don't overexert yourself or put too much responsibility to produce or make it the product you think is exactly what was important to you, and remember if it isn't perfect that doesn't mean you've lost your talent - It just means in this moment you're putting too much mental pressure on yourself. We love you and your content either way!

Awesome links, I particularly enjoyed being directed to the Wheel of Time video, it's a very divisive series and as someone who has been struggling to get into it, it's so interesting to hear different takes on the series. Sorry about the motivation slump, take as much time as you need, slumps and burnouts are the worst. Excited for the next video regardless, honestly, I enjoy all your videos from the subatomic one where over half the jokes went over my head to the 30-minute video about that humanity book (honestly really insightful).

No need to saturate the market with content for sake of content. I'll be here when you have something you wanna say

Just want to say that "discussing theories about Wind and Truth" sounds pretty epic in itself. I don't follow cosmere stuff and I am only vaguely familiar with it thanks to the internet so I was suprised for a second about the new mystical topic but I am not that stupid so a cosmere book is cool too. Anyway I don't mind if the people I subscribed take their time to upload also, as a few hopefully helpful words (becouse I get this feeling too) just upload some stuff and don't mind the quality I like to get those random minute or so long videos. If you read this thanks for your time.

It’s good to hear from you! I wonder, will you be at Dragonsteel Nexus?

Just do you. Like, if you're creating for other people and not yourself it will sap the joy out of what you do and make it just another job. Don't let the algorithm enslave you by getting you hooked on that dopamine feeling that a higher view count gives you, or leave yourself open to the lows a drop brings. Do this for yourself and no one else

I don't appreciate being forced to consider you as more than a content-generation machine

Hey everyone: first of all, even though I don't suspect many of you are meticulously tracking my upload schedule, I would like to apologize for this long delay between videos. (I think this has been the longest I've gone without uploading before.) I don't have a good excuse, except that I've been feeling kinda meh, and in this last week in particular, I just lost all motivation for working on videos. It doesn't help that the longer I go without uploading, the more I feel like the next video I upload has to be perfect, so I end up with circa 20 video scripts in various states of completion and nothing actually finished, causing the gap between uploads to widen even farther, causing me to feel even more pressure to make the next video perfect, until we end up in a deadly feedback loop kind of like the one that caused Venus to overheat so much after a bunch of carbon dioxide got trapped in the atmosphere, causing all the water to evaporate and sending water vapor into the atmosphere, causing the planet to heat up even more, and so on until it got to the point where if the Soviet Union lands a probe on Venus, the entire thing literally melts after like five minutes.
That said, there will be a new video out tomorrow! In the meantime, I wanted to shout out a few things I've been in this past month just in case for some reason you are in desperate need of hearing the melodious sound of my voice on this evening in particular.
Firstly, @SamHarrison2099 invited me and several other booktubers onto his channel to talk about why we love the Wheel of Time so much. If you're at all interested in the Wheel of Time, or if you're wondering if it's a series you might enjoy, you might like to hear our (spoiler-free) thoughts! (Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrTtX...)
Secondly, @dr.johnyoder invited me to partake in an project in which a bunch of us content creators narrated articles from the SCP wiki. The article I narrated is a great one to listen to in particular if you're looking to contemplate the infinite and face the rather horrifying idea that existence itself might be inherently agonizing. (Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urYpH...)
Last but certainly not least, Alex and Griff once again invited me onto the @SilverlightGuidetotheCosmere podcast, along with fellow content creator StormlightMemes, to discuss theories about Wind and Truth, the next book in the Stormlight Archive. Wind and Truth comes out in just a few weeks, so listen now if you want to be impressed when every single one of our predictions inevitably comes true when the book comes out. Or so you can laugh at us when they all turn out to be wrong. I don't know. (There are spoilers for the other Stomlight books in this podcast episode, so do be warned.) (Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-7j7...)
Okay, that's all for now. Hope you all are doing well, and see you all tomorrow.
(Sneak peak of tomorrow's video below, so you can see I'm not lying.)
