Oh, you missed out? Bro, I was about 9 when the film was released, but I would have never would have guessed Kenan would be the ācomic starā outshining Kel. And this film is a big reason why. Kelās āEdā character was so outstandingly performed, even if the jokes didnāt always land. With his performance, I thought Kel was like the Black Spicoli. He encapsulated the āCali Valley broā speak impeccably, I couldnāt believe the actor was from Chicago! He sounds like some of the people I grew up with, in that Cali region. And my GOAT makes an appearance: Shaq! Kazaam, Blue Chips, and this? Awesome! Iām glad you enjoyed the film as much as an adult, my dude. Itās an underrated kids film that is silly and whimsical, but also adds enough adult humor to appeal to the adult in ya. Havenāt seen the sequel. Let us know if you do. Since I grew up with this film, Iāmā¦(gulp)ā¦afraid. Mostly because this movie holds up in my heart. Life was fun in ā97. Never would have thought itād be my heaven.
